Defra: Resource Action Fund – Small Scale Grant

Environmental Thursday July 11th, 2019

Administrated by The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), the Resource Action Fund offers funding to support new projects in England, aimed at resource efficiency. The grants will support key policy outcomes in the areas of food, plastics, textiles, recycling infrastructure and litter.

The grant operates to funding streams:

Large Scale Grant: Food Waste Prevention
Grants of between £200,000 and £1,000,000. For more information click here. Proposals must be submitted by Monday 1 July 2019.

Small Scale Grant: Food Waste Prevention
Grants to provide new small-scale capital infrastructure (e.g. freezers, vehicles, storage, packaging equipment etc.) and revenue support (staff costs, volunteer recruitment, training, drivers, fuel etc.) to organisations redistributing surplus food from the likes of retailers and food manufacturers.  This programme will continue the success of the previous small-scale redistribution programme delivered by WRAP in addressing barriers to food redistribution.

Grants of between £20,000 to £170,000 are available to any size, non- commercial enterprise or not-for-profit organisation. Applicants are required to demonstrate a commitment to the project by contributing match funding: 10% for non-profit groups and 50% for commercial enterprises.

Deadline: Thursday 11 July 2019.
