A free virtual conference on Friday 20 May 2022, 10am-12pm with Funding for All, The National Lottery Community Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Tailored to Kent & Medway organisations and groups that are perhaps new to fundraising, preparing to submit their first application to one of our guest speakers, The National Lottery Community Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, or are exploring ways to build their audience.

Each First Steps to Fundraising conference will explore different fundraising themes and skills. During our next virtual conference, we will cover:

  • what funding is out there for faith and heritage groups;
  • the fundamental basics of fundraising;
  • how to build your audience;
  • what support there is to help you develop your fundraising skills; and
  • how to write to a trust with no application form.

These sessions will also offer the opportunity to:

  • introduce yourselves to The National Lottery Heritage Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund and learn more about their grants programmes;
  • learn how Funding for All can support your group; and
  • ask questions about your project directly to a panel of fundraising experts.

10.25am: Introduction to The National Lottery Heritage Fund

10.35am: Round 1 of breakout sessions

  • Room 1: Meet the Funder: The National Lottery Community Fund – Find out more about their funding programmes and ask your questions to their Funding Officers.
  • Room 2: Meet the Funder: The National Lottery Heritage Fund – Find out more about their funding programmes and ask your questions to their Funding Officers.
  • Room 3: Fundraising Skills (Building an Audience) – How can you get through to a more diverse group of people? How can you let people know about your services? If you need to open up to a wider group of people we’ll offer you our top tips on how can you approach this as an organisation plus ask your questions to a Funding for All mentor.
  • Room 4: Fundraising Skills (Writing to Trusts) – We look at the key bits of information you need to include when writing to trusts with no application form. Key area we’ll explore: 1. How to present your USP clearly. 2. How to make an impact. 3. How to use this information to save you time? Plus ask your questions to a Funding for All mentor.
  • Room 5: Fundraising Theme (Faith) – An overview of sources of funding for faith groups plus ask your questions to a Funding for All mentor.
  • Room 6: Fundraising Theme (Heritage) – An overview of sources of funding for heritage groups/projects plus ask your questions to a Funding for All mentor.

11.05am: Round 2 of breakout sessions

11.30pm: Panel Q&A – put your fundraising-related questions to our panel of experts.
