Big Issue Invest: Impact Loans England


Big Issue Invest’s Impact Loans England offers loan finance between £20,000 to £150,000 which can be structured to your individual needs. The loans are unsecured and will not require you to put any personal guarantees in place as security.

Investment funding can be used for a variety of projects, including:

  • Working capital;
  • Buying equipment;
  • Contract fulfilment;
  • Business development; or
  • Hiring new staff.

You can apply for Impact Loans England if:

  • You are a social enterprise or charity;
  • You can demonstrate an ability to repay finance;
  • You have a track record of trading;
  • You are a well managed organisation with good governance;
  • You are based in England.

Applicants will be allocated an investment manager who will offer support and guidance throughout the application process. Support with business planning, financial forecasts, legal structures and governance will be provided.

High growth social enterprises and charities may also which to consider the Social Enterprise Investment Fund II (SEIF II) which offers loans of between £250,000 and £3 million for growth, working capital and capital expenditure purposes.
