Involve Kent: Social Prescribing VCS Grant

Health & Social Care Local Grants Friday January 10th, 2020

Involve Kent are awarding grants of between £100-£5,000 to voluntary sector organisations offering activities in west Kent which improve health and wellbeing.

Applicants must be registered with Involve, either formally on our directory Connect Well West Kent, or are working with local social prescribing link workers.

Applications must meet Involve Kent’s key principles as listed below. Each principle will receive a mark out of 5, creating a total mark out of 25.

Key Principles:

  1. Value for money – Involve will look for groups/activities/services that maximise participation through either client spaces, volunteer placements or both. The aim of the grant is to increase capacity within the VCS and grants will be awarded to those who are able to take on greater numbers of clients and/or volunteers
  2. Unmet needs in the community – grants will be awarded to those who have identified a gap in provision in their local area. New groups are encouraged to form and deliver new services/activities not currently available
  3. Evidence of benefit to wellbeing – grant applications must demonstrate clear evidence that the group/activity/service has a positive impact on the wellbeing of clients and volunteers. Evidence can be provided from existing or past work or from local or national research
  4. Ability to accept referrals from Social Prescribing Link Workers – applicants must be able to accept referrals from Involve Link Workers, agreeing to the terms and conditions of joining the Involve Connect Well Directory where possible. Smaller groups not meeting the T&Cs will also be considered.
  5. Geographical spread – successful applicants will be distributed across West Kent, with preference given to those in the locality of an Involve Link Worker

Deadline: Friday 10 January 2020
